We aim to provide a place for serious discussion of the Potions Master, although there is space for other Potterverse characters/topics. While most of our members are mature fans (adults rather than teens), we strive to keep the forums suitable for the general public. The Restricted Section caters to the more...uh...intimate conversations about the ex-Professor. We host Snape-centric fiction and art as well.

The Bewitched Mind forums are celebrating their two-year anniversary today!   :yahoo:

At noon GMT, a party room will be opened to give lapsed-Slytherins the opportunity to return to the dungeons without strict adherence to the rules.  We've even found a nearby detention cell in which we can whisper behind the Professor's back!

We'll be celebrating for the remainder of the month; everything goes back to normal on September 1st.  Come on by for some treats and butterbeer!

Not a bad site, I like it. Though the only thing I would suggest is a different forum skin. It doesn't exactly blend nicely with the first intro page. Though I really do like the site. Nice job.

It was a rather disturbing post, Tagg.  Either I didn't send the PM correctly (asking exactly what you saw or thought didn't fit) or you've dropped your bomb and run.

We take a great deal of pride in our skin and on every computer I've ever tried the match is perfect.  I've selected some of the non-default skins and shuddered but I don't know why you would have criticized one of those so publicly.  I've never tried looking at if from a Mac - could that be the issue?

The Anniversary Celebrations was great fun.  If you missed it, we've kept the banter and silliness as read only (at the bottom of the forums).  It is not too late to jump into the Snape Interview if you are of a mind to impersonate the Great Greasy Git under the influence of veritaserum and Rita Skeeter.  :D

Don't think too much into it, ProfessorWannaBe. I'm sure he was simply remarking on the fact that there is a lot of green on the forums and none on the opening site ;) . But I personally love the layout and skin. I think it fits marvelously :D .

:D  You should see the skin today!  Snape would be out for blood if he strolled through the dungeons in their Halloween colors.  :D

Winter holidays have got the gang at Bewitched Mind feeling festive again.  As long as Snape's away, the students will play!  A fic challenge has already been issued and I know there are students out looking for some holly or mistletoe.  Be sure to check out the emerging holiday decor going up around the dungeons.

You might be interested to know that the holidays at Bewitched Mind extend to 9 January - Snape Day.  If the end of December is simply too busy, we'll still be celebrating into the New Year.

:o I thought I had run in here on 1 April to beg for help in ousting Lockhart from our dungeons.  Though not quite the same, you can see our unusual decor for the day and read some of our non-Snapey silliness.  We archived the whole mess in our Special Events category.

Anyway, the reason I am posting again is to invite any of you to visit us at Bewitched Mind in this exciting month.  That link will take you to our entry page from which you can check out our somewhat dusty archives (still working on getting it swept out before DH) to indulge in some Snape tales or join us in the forums.  We'll tolerate a bit of bashing as long as you are articulate.  ;)

Rich, how about another review?  We've made some changes and it has been a while.

Well rich asked me to do something I I will be reviewing this lol...

1) First impression
Amazingly nice simple intro page.  I have been a big fan of the setup of this site for a long time.  Though never joined myself as of my busy life I still find this site to have a great first impression on the eye and on the heart of the Snape fan...

2) Content
As this isn't really a content based site I will use this area to talk about posts.  I really think you have hit a great run.  People seem interested and keep coming back to post which is great in these times when forums aren't as large as they once were.  Great job...

3) Organisation
Not bad.  Everything was easy to find their from the first day I looked at it till now everything seems great...

4) Skin/Layout
Wouldn't be my first choice of a skin but I like it none the less.  It is perfect for the layout that you have going and the green gives the feel of a potion bubbling or something.  So I like the skin a lot...

5) USP, Unique "Selling" Point
I have seen some of the unique stuff that this site has going for it.  Like when Lockhart took over the dungeons I must say complete genius.  That was really thought out and weel planned.  I can't see who else tries to take over...

6) Reviewer Comments
All and all a great site that I think that you have done a great job on.  Not much that I can see to be improved in any area.  I think that you have hit that rarity of a great site... Well done...

Thanks, Tom!  Our founders were meticulous in the original design, the key to our success IMHO.  The Lockhart gig was also their idea but it didn't work out until this year when AFD fell on a weekend.

Will keep you all posted on our next event!

:(  We're upgrading our boards.  It's a good thing, right?

Can't ask for better Tech Support on the project.  Huge thanks to Dumbledore and Rich!

We'll be offline for most of the day on the 14th, back in plenty time to mark our Third Anniversary on Friday.  Check out Lucius Malfoy's letter to our members:  www.bewitchedmind.net.  Be sure to follow the link to the forums (even though they are closed) to get a glimpse of his efforts at helping with the upgrade.  <_<

Back in business!  (Malfoy was fired.  We'll have to find a place to put his 'entertainments', not to mention Snape's DIY upgrade pic for a humorous reminder of the struggle.)

:give_rose: Terry was awesome at wrestling our ancient database into its new home.  He hasn't even thrown anything at our thick heads yet!

We have opened a place to 'celebrate' our Third Anniversary today.  It will stay open a while for our members to browse the remodeled dungeon and try their hands at posting, etc. in a somewhat temporary environment.  It's a good place to work out your reactions to the end of the series (hint, hint).

I wouldn't do that.  I've been busy with several skinning request and other site move repairs. I'll be back around as soon as I can caught up.

Winter has arrived in Snape's dungeons.  To dispell the chill, we've brightened our decor and hung a bit of evergreen.  If you look hard enough, you'll find a present or two as Christmas nears but we're just as happy to celebrate the turning of the year, the Professor's birthday (9 Jan) or Burns night.  Stop in to partake of our festive spirit.

Ever since we hired Malfoy to tend the front door during our upgrade, he's been coming around to "keep an eye on Snape's domain".  We've finally taken the hint and invited him to make himself at home...in one tiny corner.  We swept out a couple other dungeon rooms in case there are other former associates of our Beloved Professor looking for an escape from the Potter-worship rampant in the Wizarding World.

You are welcome to come by to pay your respects.

A summer project is about to get underway in the dungeons.  There's sure to be a part of the task to interest all HP fans as it includes looking at Snape's past from all perspectives.  The details will be available this weekend (we're hoping for Friday) and the posting will begin on Sunday.
