are you uploading it to the right directory, some servers require you to upload to the "www" or "public_html" directories?

Which host are you using? And is it possible they don't support PHP, highly unlikely in this day and age but certainly possible.

What FTP Client are you using? (Eg. SmartFTP, CoreFTP, FireFTP etc.)

Also, are you sure you're connecting to the right directory and host for your website? Have you set up a FTP username and password with your host? (Should be an option somewhere in your hosting cp)

Not to try and pass the book or anything but have you tried contacting X0b support?

No probs, we'll keep trying to solve the issue with you :) You know it might just be easier to move to Awardspace for free hosting?

I think I see where BigRed is going:

x0b might not allow you to connect via an FTP client, you might have to do it via their file manager in the account CP?

@rich,

That was an idea, but i took a look around On their forums and it says they give you your very own FTP account but with personal experiance, on some hosts that i have had, you need to have the host address set-up a certain way. For Example;

on one host the information may be this:
HosstName: ftp.yourdomain.com
User-Name: (cpanel username)@yourdiman.com
password: cpanel password

but on another host you could connect like this:
HosstName: yourdomain.com
User-Name: (cpanel username)@yourdiman.com
password: cpanel password

and for some reason, that little bit of adding or taking away ftp. from in front of the host name changed whether i could connect or not.
